MEET "EL FLACO"

ARI.jpeg

The more you ride and the more you fall in love with cycling, you get around to thinking of a name for your bike. Trying to decide on a name is not always the easiest decision, but thankfully people helped me give it a name. When I tell people that I’m into cycling, they always ask “Do you have a mountain bike or one of those skinny tire bikes?” Since I am a Latina, I decided to translate the common “skinny tire” name that others would call it into “El Flaco” which means, “The Skinny One” or “The Slim One”

El Flaco is a Cervelo R5 with Ultegra Di2. I decided on a black color frame which allows me to make the different color bar tapes and bottles stand out.

I live in the sunny Southern California where we get fair weather conditions for most of the year. But when we do get heavy rain, the training doesn’t stop and I mount El Flaco onto my Wahoo indoor trainer and connect to ZWIFT.

MY GO-TOS

BIKE SHOPS

Cycling can be very overwhelming without the proper guidance when it comes to choosing the right bike or accessories. I remember visiting many bike shops, asking questions and immersing myself in the cycling lingo. I was fortunate enough to find two family owned bikes shops here in Southern California that have helped me buy the correct bike, parts and helped me properly maintain my bike. 3H and Fenix Cycling have made me feel like family and are truly passionate about what they do, help cyclist!

I recommend you find that local bike shop near you to help you get started.
